MEET THE BAND
BILLY WALKENHORST
Piano, Vocals
Billy grew up around music and began sitting in with his Dad's solo act at 5 years old. By the age of 15, he started playing piano. And the first song he ever learned to play was "Vienna" by Billy Joel.
By the time he was old enough to get into bars (but not drink), Billy started performing his own solo act. After receiving a degree in Performing Arts, he had a stint on keys with "Hotwire." And now, when not onstage with Sometimes a Fantasy, he performs with his wife in the acoustic duo "Lee & Laneve."
Billy Joel has been Billy's favorite artist since the 7th grade. It is a dream come true to perform his songs and a privilege to share the stage with such accomplished musicians.

MICHAEL NOONON
Guitar, Vocals
Michael is a St. Louis native who has been playing guitar since he was 13 years old. (He will not tell anyone how long ago that actually was.) His early musical inspirations were his grandfather, who played and sang Johnny Cash songs in his easy chair, and the Man in Black himself. Michael played guitar and keys in the band "Breach of Peace" from 2005-2020, and he has lent his talents to several other cover/tribute bands in the St. Louis area.
Billy Joel has always been Michael's favorite musician and songwriter. He has wanted to be in a band that plays Billy's music for many years. So Sometimes a Fantasy is literally a dream come true.
MEET THE BAND
PAUL HOLZEN
Saxophone, Percussion
Multi-instrumentalist Paul Holzen plays tenor and alto saxophones, flute, clarinet, harmonica, percussion, and background vocals in Sometimes A Fantasy. He also performs locally on guitar and vocals with his duo “Bald Eagles STL”. He has performed on 5 continents as a 26-year veteran of the Air Force bands program.
After countless hours of singing along with the recordings with his siblings as a high schooler, and with his own children as a parent, Paul thinks that playing the Billy Joel songbook is both a thrill and a beautiful challenge.

MARK SHADLEY
Bass, Vocals
Mark has been in bands since he was 17 and has played in many of St. Louis' better known bands: "Magnum," "Millennium,"Deja Who," Griffin," "Candy," "The Drive," and "The Edge."
Aside from playing in Sometimes a Fantasy: a Tribute to Billy Joel, he also plays in two other tribute bands: "TreZz HomBreZz" (ZZ TOP) and "Rock Nation" (Montrose/Sammy Hagar), As well as the cover bands, "Fireball" and "Phase 2."
The bass lines on the Billy Joel songs have been a welcome challenge. Mark plays a 4, 5, and 6 string bass through a classic Ampeg rig. Shaking the building is his favorite thing to do!
MEET THE BAND
DAVE WALKENHORST
Keys, Guitar, Vocals
Dave learned the ropes performing with the great show bands of the past, including Walter Scott and "The Cheaters" and Ron Furr "A Touch of Elvis." He then held his own as a solo act for over 20 years with "Alias Billy."
Dave now feels that it is both a challenge and a joy to perform these songs with such an outstanding group of musicians.

GREG "BOOM" BISHOP
Drums, Percussion, Vocals
The "Old Man" of the band, Greg has been playing Pro for 47 years! Though he never left the St. Louis area, he has enjoyed success in some of the top bands in local history; "Powerhouse," "Griffin," "Cartoon," Trikshot," "Candy," and "Silver Bullet STL" a Tribute to Bob Seger!
